Date: 23/11/2021
Time: 16:00 to 17:30
Trainer: Penny Hermes SEMH Educational Consultant
Audience: Teachers, Support Staff, SENCO
Outline: What is resilience and why is it important? We will look at why it is important to build children’s resilience, especially after a pandemic. We will look at practical ideas and strategies as well as the science behind why children may not be as resilient.
The training will focus on 3 main areas of resilience –
-
Embodied resilience, developing a positive sense of self and a feeling of safety.
-
Emotional resilience, the ability to cope with the big emotions.
-
Cognitive resilience, self-awareness, self-acceptance and trusting your inner capabilities and taking risks to learn.
All the strategies will be linked to why using the outdoors will support resilience building in children.
Delegates will go away with a secure understanding in how the outdoors helps to build resilience and strategies to use with pupils who are showing low resilience.
Once purchased you will have access to the meeting link. Please note the training will be recorded so if you miss the live training you will be able to watch it at a time convenient for you.
