Embrace the power of a ‘coaching culture’

This workshop is an engaging mix of theory and practical activities

In this two-part workshop series, Matt (who has extensive school leadership and coaching experience) provides an insight into why many schools are now embracing coaching as the way forward in motivating staff to go above and beyond expectation to drive school improvement.

Adopting a ‘coaching culture’ can unlock the potential of every member of staff

Effective coaching is about challenging assumptions, overcoming barriers, developing strategies, actions, and awareness that drive behavioural change and school improvement

In this new approach, leaders ask questions instead of providing answers, support colleagues instead of judging them, and facilitate their development instead of dictating what needs to be done.

Course outcomes

  • Understand exactly what coaching is and isn’t

  • Examine real-life case studies of schools who have experienced huge success when adopting coaching principles

  • Learn the process of a coaching ‘learning conversation’

  • Learn to develop your emotional intelligence to become a great coach

  • Embed a sustainable coaching process in school which draws wisdom, insight and creativity out of the staff you’re coaching with the goal of helping them learn to resolve problems and cope with challenges on their own
