Early Years Physical Activity and Movement Play Consultant

Experience

Helen has been delivering training for the past 10 years and her consultancy now takes her all over the world, from Malaysia to Dubai, from China to Romania. The movement philosophy Helen promotes is to embed movement within the curriculum and framework to create a kineasthetic classroom. Young children learn through movement, early years practice must adopt an approach which is accessible to all. Moreover, reducing sedentary behaviour and ensuring practitioners are aware of the impact movement has on cognitive development and PSE well-being. As a researcher Helen conducts live action research in the field which influence and feeds into her training provision.

Qualifications

Helen has an MA in early childhood physical activity. Trained dance teacher, ISTD, UTD. Performing Arts – LAMDA and has completed Skinner Release Technique provision, levels 1-11.

Achievements

Helen was the lead physical development advisor on Change4life's 10 Minute Shake Up Cards (UK) and is frequently found presenting at the most prestigious education conferences across the globe. Helen also sits on the Sedentary Behaviour Council (ISPAH) and London Obesity Taskforce.
