‘EYFS Reforms: The New Framework’

Early Years is changing… are you ready?

The Early Years Foundation Stage framework, a statutory document we must use in all early years settings, has been reformed and the new framework will become mandatory from September 2021.

In this course, I will take you through the changes that have been made to the framework, as well as the supporting non-statutory documents, ‘Development Matters 2021’ and ‘Birth to 5 Matters 2021’.

From changes to the content of both prime and specific areas, to the way we assess and safeguard the children in our care, I will highlight the reforms which you will need to take into account when preparing for the 2021/22 academic year. Take a sneak peak by watching the introduction below:

Objectives of this course:

  • To understand the changes that have been made to the EYFS framework and how this may affect your setting and its pupils
  • To consider any changes that need to be made/planned for in your setting due to these reforms
  • To understand how new non-statutory guidance can be used to support the framework
  • To continue your professional development by discussing with colleagues and using the tasks provided
