What is Mindfulness?
In order to capture mindfulness in its most simplest form, we want our children to be aware of their surroundings simply by paying attention and focusing on the present moment. We want them to understand what emotions are arising and how they can navigate them. Children need the time, space and techniques to understand what feelings are occurring within as well as the ‘unseen’ beauty that surrounds them.
What will children learn?
In this skill, students learn how important it is to focus on our senses to be in the present moment. How to identify and reduce stress, fear, nervousness by becoming a witness to their thoughts. They will explore the impact of breathing to reduce the impact of negative emotions as well as key observation skills that can lead to greater inspiration and gratitude.
