Title: Outdoor Movement Circuits for All Children with supporting activity booklet (On Demand Training)
Trainer: Victoria Bayes, Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner
Training length: 1 hr
Audience: Teachers, Support Staff, SENCOs, childminders
Description:
Movement circuits aim to provide short bursts of movement-based activities to support children in preparing for learning. Typically, these are provided for specific children who may present with sensory processing challenges, ASD or ADHD, for example.
We are all sensory beings and many children can benefit from movement circuits before and after academic learning. This session will provide an introduction to what movement circuits are, whilst exploring the benefits of all children accessing movement-based activities in a structured way. We will discuss why the outdoors can provide a useful environment to implement movement circuits and how circuits can be used throughout the day. Delegates will explore examples of movement circuit activities, which can be used in their own setting.
