Seasonal Celebration Songs

Boogie Mites Seasonal Celebration Songs

Singing and dancing have always been a most uplifting way for group celebration events, whether they be birthday parties, weddings, religious festivals or sporting occasions.

Join Tasha to get tips for celebrating the run up to Christmas and an end of term celebration event with your early years team and children this year with Boogie Mites.

In this recorded webinar Tasha will give ideas for introducing six songs in the weeks preceding the end of term celebration event. She will share the benefit of her many years producing the school Christmas performances and leading Boogie Mites Arctic Adventure Workshops at early years settings in Hampshire.

Six Seasonal Celebration Songs

Wave Hello Now It’s Christmas – sing, dance and wave

Jingle Bells – fly through the sky to the arctic to meet Santa and his elves

The Arctic Hop – join the penguins the seals and polar bears for a dance at the seasonal celebration dance

Christmas Cake – tap out the rhythms of favourite seasonal foods

Tap Tap Elves – help the elves make toys for the children

Here We Go Round The Christmas Tree – join hands for a group seasonal celebration dance

The six songs selected for this 40 minute Christmas themed music workshop will provide a fun and bonding celebration music workshop that can be practised throughout November/December, you might even invite parents to join for the end of term celebration event.

Two traditional songs have been recorded in a Boogie Mites style. Jingle Bells provides an exciting music activity with shakers or bells as the children gallop around to get to the Arctic. Mulberry Bush provides a calming circle song that can be adapted with actions that you choose, ending with the children sitting in a circle, ready for a Christmas game.

Three popular Boogie Mites songs have been adapted for this celebration time of year. Wave Hello Now It’s Christmas can use sparkly scarves/tinsel to wave as children sing, dance and follow the actions. Christmas Cake involves tapping out rhythms of favourite celebration foods. Tap Tap Elves uses rhythm sticks and drums to tap and bang as we help the elves in their work.

The Boogie Mites song Arctic Hop is a musical theatre style song, with role play encouraged throughout. The children arrive in the arctic a little scared and very cold, then they hear the party music and join the arctic animals, imitating their moves and generally having a lot of fun!

Best of all, as well as celebrating this special time of year, the children will be getting their daily dose of brain boosting music activities, strengthening the super power of sound processing/rhythmic awareness whilst extending attention span, boosting neural networks and bonding with the group and community. Find out more about these aspects in our Boogie Mites ABCD Music Methodology Course.
