The next intake for Supporting Dyslexia Outside the Box training starts on April 18th March

In Module 1, “Introduction to Dyslexia and Outdoor Learning,” we’ll dive deep into the fundamentals of dyslexia, examining its definition and manifestations in the classroom. But we won’t stop there – we’ll also explore the remarkable link between dyslexia support and outdoor environments, backed by compelling research on the benefits of outdoor learning. You’ll learn how to harness your school’s outdoor space to create inclusive learning environments and kickstart the initial assessment process with Task 1.

Module 2, “Reading Support,” delves into the intricacies of reading difficulties and barriers faced by dyslexic learners. Through innovative outdoor strategies, you’ll discover how to break down these barriers and foster reading development. Task 2 will guide you in translating reading theory into practical, outdoor-based interventions.

In Module 3, “Spelling Support,” we’ll tackle the challenges of spelling proficiency among dyslexic students. With outdoor strategies tailored to spelling development, you’ll empower your students to overcome spelling barriers. Task 3 will help you seamlessly integrate spelling theory into your outdoor teaching practices.

Next, in Module 4, “Writing Support,” we’ll explore the complexities of writing difficulties experienced by dyslexic learners. By implementing outdoor strategies for writing development, you’ll pave the way for enhanced writing skills among your students. Task 4 will provide you with the opportunity to put writing theory into action in your outdoor classroom.

Finally, in Module 5, “Reflection,” we’ll take a step back to review the impact of our interventions and identify the next steps for our chosen students. Through an online feedback session, you’ll have the chance to reflect on your journey, share insights, and collaborate with fellow participants.
