Building Resilience in our Learners

Building Resilience in our Learners

Resilience is an incredibly important attribute for all, irrespective of age or background. It has shown to be important for several reasons; it enables us to develop mechanisms for protection against experiences that could be overwhelming, helps us to maintain balance in our lives during difficult or stressful periods, and can also protect us from the development of some mental health difficulties and issues. Those lacking resilience get easily overwhelmed, and may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms to alleviate the affects of stresses and strains from our daily lives.

The good news is that we can develop our own and others resilience levels, enabling us to cope better with stressors that enter our lives.

So what can we do to support them?
